Geotec Renewable Energy was founded with the main mission of putting Canada on the geothermal power map of the world. Canada’s geothermal sites are located on the Circum-Pacific Ring of Fire, where the greatest geothermal power resources are located. Most countries on the Ring are already using this green and sustainable source of power. For example, one fifth of the total power capacity of the Philippines is of the geothermal variety. In California, the Geyser’s geothermal resource provides power to the the city of San Francisco. Canada’s young volcanoes on the West Coast have geothermal power potential similar to those of California, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand and the Philippines. Tecto’s geothermal permit near Pemberton, British Columbia is located on a significant geothermal resource (with an estimated potential above 500 MW). Geotec intends to bring the first 200 MW of Canadian geothermal power online in the near future.
Geotec also promotes geothermal energy world-wide by participating in exploration and development of high grade and medium grade geothermal resources for different applications (including heating, cooling, hot-spring sap, power generation, industrial processes, agriculture and aquaculture).
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Geotec is an energy resource company, established to explore and develop renewable energy resources and tecnologies, in Canada and abroad. Geotec has acquired a major geothermal permit in Canada, with the potential to produce several Megawatts of renewable power in British Columbia. Besides geothermal, Geotec develops other renewable resources and technologies such as solar, hydro and wind.
